About Serena Sinniah
My practice of psychotherapy draws on more than fifteen years of work with clients in the United States and Malaysia.
I have worked in a residential treatment facility, in hospital paediatric and psychiatric departments, and in university mental health centres, with concerns ranging from stress, relationships and parenting to mood, anxiety, grief and other mental health conditions.
Alongside individual psychotherapy, I run group therapy and training sessions, and give talks and workshops.
Over the years I have become increasingly passionate about empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to heal and to build resilience.
“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.”
How I work
My approach is to address what brings a person to therapy while aiming to equip and empower them to accomplish more than symptomatic relief. With greater self-awareness, clients will be able to meet future challenges with confidence.
I work in close collaboration with clients who are willing to commit to the process and journey of psychotherapy. Together we develop an individual plan, and I personalise my approach to meet the goals set in therapy.
I do not use a single method for everyone. TBC
